Here are a few quick tips for washing your boat, bike or vehicle. Scroll down to see each step.
- Start with your favorite clean bucket, a clean, high quality wash mit that will retain a lot of soap & water, a strong supply of city water (not well water) and a bottle of our Wash & Wax.
|
- Simply add two capfuls of Wash & Wax to a 5 gallon bucket.
|
 |
 |
 |
 |
- Fill with a strong stream of city water.
- Note: Filing with the nozzle close to the bucket will produce a good mixture with water at the bottom and suds on top.
- Filling with the nozzle held away from the bucket makes mostly suds and not much water/soap solution in the bucket.
- Note: there are many companies who manufacture remote water filters and softeners to help eliminate hard water spots. Check the web for more info.
|
- The most critical part of a quality wash job is the pre-rinse.
- We use a "jet" nozzle starting from the top to remove as much grit as possible.Use caution with high pressure water around openings, decals and electrical components.
- Work your way down to flush away the grit and other debris.
- On vehicles, try to rinse in the door jam area as well as inside the wheel wells.
- On boats, start at the highest part that you will wash first. Just rinse the area that you can physically wash in one "session" with out the soap drying. Then rinse and move on to the next lowest section.Keep in mind that the grit from the upper wash sections will be running down hill,so rinsing those areas before scrubbing is important.
- On motorcycles, use caution with high pressure streams of water, Also protect electrical components and open exhaust pipes.
- The most important reason to remove grit is to keep from scratching the finish with the wash mit.

- When we wash the company truck,we usually use a separate mit to do the wheels, wheel wells, running boards, and lower body panels to remove heavy road grit and grime.
- By washing the lowest areas first, you won't be as concerned about the upper areas drying first before you can wipe off excess water.
- After washing the lower areas, switch to a fresh soap solution and mit.
- Wash from the top down, keeping rinsed areas wet until it's time to dry.
- Note: one of the benefits of Frenzy! Wash & Wax is that even if the soap starts to dry, streaking is virtually nonexistent.
- Note: a "grit grill" can be used in the bottom of the bucket to keep the mit out of the grit.
|
- Rinse completly and have your drying supplies nearby.
- It might also be a good time to grab your favorite beverage as your shiny clean ride begins to emerge. You're almost done!

- We use the California Dry Blade to squeegee away excess water first.
- For boats, a quality mop-like chamois works well to remove most of the water. There are also brackets made to attach the Dry Blade to a scrub handle and works great on windows and smooth surfaces.
- For motorcycles, the trusty leaf blower is great for blowing water out of hard to reach areas.Use caution with high-powered units!
|
- After the excess water is removed ,wipe down with a quality micro-fibre or chamois towel.
- We recommend washing your drying towels separate from other laundry. Also dry them separate from cotton towels to avoid lint buildup and do not use dryer sheets.
- For windows on cars & trucks ,try this:
- Roll down all the windows, dry out the tracks and gaskets with an older microfibre cloth to remove water and dirt,
- Roll up each window 1/2 way,dry the top edge with a clean micro-fibre ,and the roll up the rest of the way and finish drying.
- Allow to windows to remain up long enough for the gaskets to dry completely.
- There's nothing more frustrating than wet streaks on your windows after a complete wash job.
